Caitlin Patterson
Teacher, musician, founder
Caitlin Patterson is the founder of Bluebird Song School, an accomplished musician, and a passionate music educator. She began singing and playing guitar and piano at a young age, and by high school, she had committed to pursuing a career in music. Caitlin earned a BA in Music Composition from Seattle Pacific University in 2013. Throughout her twenties, she immersed herself in songwriting circles, led music at her church, taught lessons, and performed at shows and open mics across Seattle.
When Caitlin began teaching private guitar, piano, and voice lessons in 2015, she quickly discovered her passion for helping others grow musically. She also realized that teaching is deeply relational, and creativity flourishes when we share it with others in a safe space. In 2016, she launched Little Birdie Music Lessons, her private lessons business that has allowed her to teach students all over Seattle for the past nine years.
Caitlin received her MA in Education from Seattle Pacific University in 2019 and went on to teach choir in the Seattle Public School system for three years. There, she gained invaluable experience in group teaching, teaching harmony, intonation, and large-scale concert coordination.
Throughout her career, Caitlin has maintained a strong affinity for songwriting, integrating this passion into her lessons to inspire creativity and personal expression in her students. She is dedicated to curating lessons that foster creativity, growth, and connection as students learn music.
Outside of music, Caitlin enjoys hiking, cooking, paddle-boarding, and being with family and friends. She is also an active member of her church community in Seattle. Caitlin is excited to help you grow in your musical journey!
